Growing up as a child, I was fortunate enough to spend countless days and weekends with my family in Saratoga Springs, NY. My beloved father was a life-long fan and $2 bettor, who originally introduced me to the sport I love today. In my youth, like many kids at the track today, I was running around morning and afternoon hustling to get autographs from all of the top trainers and jockeys. I would wake up at the crack of dawn, and beg my parents to take me to the racetrack, in order to go see all the barns and morning workouts. I was in awe of the racetrack. It fascinated me in more ways then I could count; seeing these majestic animals parade around surrounded by people that I once idolized. I knew from a young age that this was all I wanted to do, and I was willing to do whatever it took to make this dream a reality.
From the time I fell for the sport, until I was about fifteen years old or so, I pondered how exactly I could begin my journey into racing. Having no family or ties to the industry, it was difficult to find a way to learn and be involved based on my age and location. At the age of sixteen, I decided to create my own introduction to the game by owning horses and creating the Phantom Racing Stables LLC. I claimed two lower end horses to begin my career as an owner, and began 5 for 5; they were all wins.
This was somewhat of a humbling and extraordinary experience. I often find myself looking back on those days and realizing just how lucky I was, and how much it still means to me to this day, that I still have that same love for the game as I did as when I was younger.
Now at the age of 21, after working for and with numerous trainers for a period of years, I have decided to venture out on my own training career. Over the years, I have built invaluable connections, and picked up on countless learning experiences that will allow me to run and manage a successful racing stable.
With an open arm policy and numerous outlets of communication, trainer Jack Hurley is available at all times on an "as-needed" basis, to each and every owner. Staying updated every step of the way, has never been so convenient.
At the Jack P. Hurley Racing Stable, there is no specific 'one size fits all'. Each equine athlete is entitled to it's own specific program in order to optimize the health and performance of the athlete. This includes but is not limited too: nutrition, supplements, training, therapies, and treatments, etc.
Being an owner himself, Jack P. Hurley understands the highs and lows of horse ownership, as well as the on-going costs associated with such a venture. That being said, Mr. Hurley keeps the clients wallet in mind during the day to day operations, while also providing the equine athlete with optimum care and necessities.
We are firm believers in the saying, "Take care of the horse, and the horse will take care of you!" Without these animals, there is no horse racing, which trickles down to employ and bring joy to so many people; and for that we owe it to them to never cut corners and always put fourth our best effort for them.
Our mission overall is to first and foremost, win races! Often times a horse can be running well, but is not placed properly enough to succeed or win. At the Jack P. Hurley Racing Stable, we believe every equine athlete has the ability to succeed if placed at the right level. We love to be aggressive and we seek to do that and succeed in every race we compete in.
Although this is a business, we also seek to have a good time and an overall enjoyment for the game. We encourage you to bring your family and friends to the races, come to the barn, feed and pet the horses, etc. With a young, enthusiastic, and energetic passion for the game, it is sure to rub off on you at the Jack P. Hurley Racing Stable. After all, being involved in the greatest sport in the world, is supposed to be fun!
